| Before entering the limelight after winning the International Wool Prize with Yves Saint Laurent in 1954, Lagerfeld attended school in Hamburg and fashion school in Paris. He later directed haute couture houses Balmain and Chanel before designing his own collections under the KL label. He has also been active as a photographer for the press and for some advertising industries. |
