16.10.1906: The Captain from Köpenick |
 |
A one-of-a-kind incident in the history of crime. It was with this 1906 headline that Berlins press played their trump card. Readers couldnt believe their eyes when they read about a hussar play that had been staged in the town of Köpenick near the German capital. It was the tale of a crooked shoemaker who gets hold of a uniform from a junk dealer and uses it for criminal gain.
