| From 1955 on the Federal Republic had confirmed agreements with Turkey and other countries for low waged Guest workers to come to the aid of the German economic miracle. The millionth guest worker to arrive in Germany was greeted in Cologne by the President of the Union of German Industry and presented with a moped. |
