Maximilian Schell began his stage acting career in 1953. In 1961, he received an Oscar for his role in Stanley Kramers film Judgment at Nuremberg. In 1963, he played Hamlet, followed by a multitude of German and American film and television roles. Schell demonstrated his talent as a director in Murder on the Bridge (1975) and in the cinematic autobiography of Marlene Dietrich simply called Marlene (1983). |
