One of the originators of the Salzburg festival in 1920, Reinhardt was famous for his unusual dramatic interpretations, which used a combination of language, music and dance. One of his most famous productions was his filming of Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” in 1935. He emigrated to the US in 1937.
